lva Nova’s concert recorded at «DOM» cultural centre in Moscow is totally special, practically experimental. On the first level, the chamber-like style of the performance, stripped of any external effects, seems to give each composition a new dimension: the tango is not the tango at all, the polka is not the polka and the blues suddenly becomes a lullaby. The outcome of this is that the listener can ‘really hear the instruments and voices, bringing him thereby closer to that great secret of nature: sound. It’s not easy to label lva Nova’ s music:they cleverly mix and skillfully juggle all kinds of styles and genres. And as a result they are popular guests at various international music festivals.
